What is the difference between GMAT and CAT Tests?

What is the Difference

The meek difference between the two is that where the test CAT is that of just a national degree entrance exam; GMAT is an international exam. Which test is more difficult?

The Criteria of eligibility

GMAT: if you wish to appear in this test then the candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream or equal from a good university. Final year Graduation applicants are also eligible to apply. There is no minimum cut off marks needed to appear in GMAT.

CAT: To appear in this test the applicant has to possess a Bachelor’s degree in any stream having minimum of fifty percent marks or equivalent from a standard university. Final year Graduation candidates are also qualified to apply for this test.

Regularity or Mode of Exam

GMAT: this testis held throughout the year and the applicants can book a test slot for the test from the announced calendar as per their ease. The candidates can also re-take the test five times within the period of twelve months. Please note that a maximum of eight attempts are permitted to any candidate in his/her lifetime.

CAT:  it is a test that is organized only once a year. CAT applicant’sprocedure starts only in the month of August and the test takes place in the last week of month of November or even first week of December.
